Creating and painting have always been important parts of my life.  For many years I enjoyed painting realistic watercolors but recently I have transitioned from literal depictions to transformative interpretations. 

 

The links between people and their environment are fascinating.   Art to me is about unveiling and revealing—putting into visual form—perceptions and sensations.  Images that may present an initial simple visual statement reveal more complex associations with intellectual and emotional ideas.  Personal experiences inform my work as intuitive abstract compositions.

 

I work with several media with special interest in oil and cold wax.  The spontaneous approach that oil and cold wax provides along with the challenge of the intuitive process motivates me.  I want my work to be rich and intriguing and take the viewer to a special emotional place.
